  • because THIS IS SPARTAAAAAA!

  • Another opinion supported by some historians is that the Spartans had foreseen that Thebes would soon rise as a great power among the greek city-states and they decided that Athens should continue to exist in order to act as a counterbalance to Thebes in the future.

  • To be honest, this is something I never understood and I always admired!
Spartans said that they couldn't destroy a city that offered so many to the Greek nation and culture and especially during the Persian Wars.
I call this attitude 'brave'! They, Spartans, proved to be real brave and not just a military city without any other meaning.

{The above incident is refered by Thucydides and it is toughed from the ancient Greek text to the students of the 1st Grade of Lyceum}.

Athens is the hottest (in climate) city of the Southeast of Europe, what do you think? Any suggestions for restaurants/sights/shopping in Athens and Mykonos?
