Why is this happing in rich areas and poor areas?

  • Poor neighborhoods: Crack areas with trash all over the place and rusted out beat up cars with many teenagers hanging out on street corners with no life. Signs of Obama and Biden all over the place. **Rich Neighborhoods: 500,000 to one million dollar homes with 60,000 dollar cars in driveways and well maintained lawns and all people wearing business clothes. McCain and Palin signs all over the place.


  • I've noticed the exact opposite. I live in an upper middle class suburb in Michigan and see Obama signs in my neighbors' yards and all around town. Everyone owns acreage and very nice homes.

    I work in the city and have to drive through a pretty run down area to get there. It isn't a ghetto, but half the houses in the neighborhood are for sale and all the houses are pretty old and inexpensive ($60-80,000 range). I was shocked to see all the McCain signs in the yards. What is McCain going to do for them? I also saw a lady at the gas station the other day driving an old beater (a Corsica)- she and her passenger both looked like they could stand to lose 100 pounds and were smoking cigarettes. They had a McCain sticker on their POS car. I couldn't help but laugh..


  • That's completely opposite where I live. I live in a middle to middle-upper class neighborhood. Every sign is a McCain/Palin sign. Even in the poorer areas. In the rich/elite areas you only see Obama signs. In the area I live there is not much diversity and people are afraid of change and is mostly made up of staunch republicans. If we were to put up a sign it would be an Obama sign, and the only one in the neighborhood. I guess it all depends on where you live.


  • I live in Laguna Nigel, CA (avg homes is in the 800k) I see both signs all over the place.


  • Food Stamps = Democrat. Job = Republican


  • You know, you are how you keep your dwelling. No one told the poor neighborhoods to wreck there living quarters!

    In Chicago, they build a housing development, and what happens, they pee on the building, wrtite on the building, make crack houses, leave litter all over, gangs hang out - who makes them do this?

    The fact that richer neighborhoods DON"T do this could have something to do with this, ya think?

    I am lower middle class, outside of Chicago - we don't trash our neighborhood!

    You are what you make yourself! I live check to check and struggle - so it isn't like I have money to have people clean up after me!

    The folks who are on crack cocaine between jail terms eventually become impoverished ghetto dwellers.
