I currently work for a fitness center, as a babysitter for children while parents are working out. It's a small gym, so I see the same children each week pretty much. The problem is, it is only a part-time position. I am starting college classes soon (online) and I will need to cover my health insurance soon. I really really love this job, and I've been crying a lot when I think about quitting it. I sought out a full-time nanny position and I've been offered the position. It pays well and they will offer health insurance.
I just feel like I will lose so much if I quit my current job - relationships with the parents and children, great co-workers, gym benefits, and I am one of the original workers from when they opened the childcare room last year. I feel like I'm letting them down, and I feel like some of the children are great friends. I know all the kids by name, and many of the parents by name. Should I stay and find another part-time job in the afternoons? Or should I take the high-paying job with health insurance, a job that will give me free time during the day to study for classes?? Please help...I have to give them my decision tonight!Your new job would be a great opportunity. so i would take the nanny job. it would make much more sense to allow to do college as well. see if its possible for you to work some shifts at the gym on the weekend? dont cut all ties with them but they'll understand that you need to move on.
just dont burn your bridges.I totally understand you, I went through something similar not long ago. My advice is to get the better paying job, you're young and need time for school, don't get too attached to a job and once you quit, keep in touch with the people you work with and you'll be fine! Don't let good opportunities pass, think about yourself and your career first.#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
