  • im a Christian.
why don't you think jesus is the Messiah.
and when it is the end of the world and your so called Messiah(antichrist)is here what are you going to think when it turns out he was the antichrist when you thought he was the Messiah.and then jesus will come to save the earth from total destruction and their will be a thousand years of peace.
no offense i love jews i have a lot of jewish friends so don't think im a hater.

  • They believe he was a prophet, but not the messiah.

Where do you get the notion there will be end times? They don't believe in that either.

You're very condescending and I doubt you have any Jewish friends.

If you did, you'd just go ask them.

  • Heather H, you are dead wrong and you show your ignorance greatly.

As for your question, there is a thought in the Jewish community that Jesus was the greatest conman in the history of the world. He taught the prophesies so he knew where and when to be.

Also there is a Yiddish saying that roughly translates into; bastard son of an unclean women.

    Any gray area there?

  • Think for a moment...

In the event the Hebrew people openly accepted Jesus where would that leave the gentile (non-jew)?

Remember, the Sermon on the Mount when the Scribes and Pharisees approached Jesus and said:

Why have you come to change the law?

    Jesus replied:

I have not come to change it, I have come to fulfill it.

As Christians we view this beautiful passage as Jesus providing the non-jew and/or gentile also the opportunity for Salvation!
Before Jesus the gentile was a lost pagan culture that had very little hope for eternal/everlasting life with an authentic God!

    God bless'

  • Try asking your Jewish friends.

  • To start with, no one can measure up to what Jews want in a Messiah.

As Asher said, "* He will be descended from King David (Isaiah 11:1) via King Solomon (1 Chron. 22:8-10)"

While Jesus fulfilled this prophecy, no one else can. Why? Because there is no one can trace their lineage back to the destruction of the 2nd Temple let alone back to David. There is talk about DNA being able to help except that would require a DNA sample from David....again, not possible.

So it looks like Daniel was correct.

***To the L-rd our G-d belong compassions and forgivenesses; for we have rebelled against Him; 10 neither have we hearkened to the voice of HaShem our G-d, to walk in His laws, which He set before us by His servants the prophets. 11 Yea, all Israel have transgressed Thy law, and have turned aside, so as not to hearken to Thy voice; and so there hath been poured out upon us the curse and the oath that is written in the Law of Moses the servant of G-d; for we have sinned against Him. 12 And He hath confirmed His word, which He spoke against us, and against our judges that judged us, by bringing upon us a great evil; so that under the whole heaven hath not been done as hath been done upon Jerusalem. 13 As it is written in the Law of Moses, all this evil is come upon us; yet have we not entreated the favour of HaShem our G-d, that we might turn from our iniquities, and have discernment in Thy truth. 14 And so HaShem hath watched over the evil, and brought it upon us; for HaShem our G-d is righteous in all His works which He hath done, and we have not hearkened to His voice....

....25 Know therefore and discern, that from the going forth of the word to restore and to build Jerusalem unto one anointed, a prince, shall be seven weeks; and for threescore and two weeks, it shall be built again, with broad place and moat, but in troublous times. 26 And after the threescore and two weeks shall an anointed one be cut off, and be no more; and the people of a prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; but his end shall be with a flood; and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. 27 And he shall make a firm covenant with many for one week; and for half of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the offering to cease; and upon the wing of detestable things shall be that which causeth appalment; and that until the extermination wholly determined be poured out upon that which causeth appalment.'***

He is a prophet, after all.

And before the Messiah comes, Elijah has to come. Will he come as a Christain able to hear the voice of the Spirit of God like he did the first time or will he come like a rabbi who would be discredited if he said he heard God speak?

Like the inability to link back to David, no one can trace their heritage back to Aaron either. So if a Temple was built, no one would qualify as a priest.

So as the Jews find it neccessary for the Messiah to return and make allowances for someone to qualify, Jesus will. And the priesthood will return in the line of Melchizedek....not Aaron. And Jews will worship in a Temple where a sacrifice was made for their sin.

Please understand, it isn't just Jesus that can't be the Messiah. No one can.

    EDIT: Ol' Doc

Yes, you are dead wrong and Heather is totally correct. All of the Tanach leads to Christianity....not the destruction of the 2nd Temple and the creation of the Talmud. If there was more than one Torah, the Torah would have indicated this. Instead, everytime one reads a reference to "the Torah," it is correct to interpret "singular" and "written". "The Torah" never is "plural" or "oral."

Bill: ***The most offense thing I have ever heard in my 60 years is "Some of my best friends are Jewish". ***

You have lead a very sheltered life. Correcting someone's grammer might be the way to rebuke someone's theology in the community center but it really doesn't work in the real world. Try proving your point with facts.

Asher: ***What the Messiah will accomplish will be miraculous - with the help of the majority of the human race.***

Where is that in the Tanach? What prophet are you quoting? Oh that is right, you aren't quoting a prophet. So what would Moses do? What did Elijah do?

Oh, that's right. This is just your opinion that you are saying represents all Judaism.

  • Why did i DENY CHRISTIANITY

everything which i will introduce to you here is all COMPLETLY TRUE and BASED ON FACTS if you don't trust me you can check for yourself!
I WILL NOT LIE nor call anyone vulgar names nor tell to ABANDON their religion in this thread!
this article will REVAL you THE SHOCKING TRUTH about this religion!
here i will discuss the reason why did i DENY christianity and CHOSE Judaism INSTEAD!
i shall note before starting that i PREFER to use the spelling "xianity" INSTEAD OF "christianity" in order TO PREVENT confusion!

i will start from saying that it is not Jesus (real name = Yeshu) that i DENY but rather XIANITY itself!
why? well first of all - all the ORIGINAL Jewish practices and replaced them with stolen pagan practices (it was done to ease up on people which wanted to convert to xianity from all the polytheistic religions but it remained for this day even thou Jesus would not support it)
xianity in the early stage when yeshu was still alive used to be just a branch of Judaism and not a indevidual religion by itself as it is today! I'm pretty sure that if Jesus will resurrect in our days he will pass out from seeing what have been done to his religion! modern xianity fully supports iconolatry and idolatry which Judaism severely forbids as the third most important commandment in our religious sacred texts (it is one of the ten commandments)! the cross is a stolen pagan symbol (as well as the xmas tree) the original symbol of xianity used to be a fish! such celebrations as easter xmas and even all saint days (Halloween) are a stolen and corrupted versions of various pagan festivals! xmas is not the real birthday of Yeshu (as the theological scholars and archaeologists confirm) and it wasn't not traditional for Jews to celebrate birthdays in the first place (don't forget that Yeshu - Jesus is a Jew) xmas is the Egyptian winter solstice festival and birth day of the Egyptian god Horus which was celebrated by giving gifts to each other eating and getting drunk! how many Jews did xian rulers and popes kill? all saints day for an example is actually a Celtic fire festival! it was the "convert-or-die" condition which was set for us Jews back in the day! there was not one and not two bad EIGHT bloody wars the only goals of which was to convert everyone to xianity and if they don't agree get rid of all non-xians (including women and children) and destroy all non-xian cities which will not agree to convert all of their citizens! New-Year-Eve is actually held on the day that the person know as "Silvester" died - he was a xian anitisemit and commanded to destroy any Jewish cities which the soldiers will find! some of us he burned some of us he drowned... do you agree with him that this is normal? some xians believe that yeshu is God (the god of Israel) which is completely ridiculous and highly blasphemeous for us Jews because claiming this is seen as completely hersey and it is repulsive to us! this is not the worst thing... some xians (like the Mormons for an example) consider Yeshu not to be God but a god and worship both God (the Abrahamic god) and Yeshu himself as a god (which is seen as even more sinful for us) and some even worship the "virgin" Marry (real name = Miriam) as the mother Goddess and in more rare cases Joseph (real name = Yosef) as well as worshiping some angels and sevrvents/minions of our god which was clearly forbidden by him this is breaking the second most important commandment in our religious sacred texts (and it is also one of the ten commandments = you shall have no other gods beside me) oh and don't forget the whole "Holy" trinity! some may argue that worshipping one god which is made of three gods cannot be considered polytheism bad the standard English dictionary as well as the popular Wikipedia the free encyclopedia seem to think otherwise and have a different opinion on this!

so now you know the truth... i would like you to ask yourself just one and only question as a conclusion: do you think it's normal?

  • Jesus doesn't come close to matching the description of the Jewish Messiah.

  • if you meant no offense, then you wouldn't have insulted their beliefs.

    bigot.

  • Are you truly a earnest questioner?

The way you have worded it sounds offensive. You should rethink how you phrase this.

    =o

  • Jews, Christians, and Muslims all believe in the same God. They all descend from the families of the old testament. Each just went their own way. All people do.
Try not to judge who is, and who isn't going to be saved by your own personal ideas. I'm a christian too. But I will let God judge me when I stand before him. And I will not judge other people because they think differently. Coexistence, and tolerance is what will solve the problems society faces. Not telling people they are wrong in their beliefs. Save the lost souls, not the ones who are saved different then you.

  • First and foremost, I am Jewish.

Your very first statement says I'm (capital I apostrophe m) a Christian.

Jesus (with a capital J) does not fit the requirements set down in the Bible to be the Messiah.

If I do not believe in Christ as the Messiah why should I care if there is or will be an anti-Christ (with a capital C).

We have never thought that Jewish was the Messiah and that he would save the earth from total destruction. There will not be a thousand years of peace.

The most offense thing I have ever heard in my 60 years is "Some of my best friends are Jewish". Your statement of "No (capital N) offense I (capital I) love Jews (capital J). I (capital I) have a lot of Jewish (capital J) friends, so don't think I'm( capital I apostrophe m) a hater" proves to me that you are anti-Semitic, bigoted, a liar, and someone who thinks that he is right and the rest of the world is out of step. Your question and statement reeks of pure hate. To me you are the worst example of an open minded person I have ever seen.

I sincerely hope you have a good life.

    Bill

  • The original poster is clearly insane

  • answer: I doubt you have a lot of Jewish friends or you'd ask them.

answer: because Jesus didn't fulfill ONE of the actual prophecies concerning the Jewish Messiah.

answer: because a divine, miracle performing, sacrificed/risen savior who takes on the sins of everyone is more than alien to Judaism, it's against what G-d told the Jews to watch for.

Jesus was perfect for the pagans who expected all of that. Not for the Jews then or now.

Jews don't believe in an anti-christ because John's rantings aren't part of Judaism.

Neither John the Baptist, Jesus nor Revelation is part of Judaism or Jewish belief. There is no eternal torment in Judaism and Satan isn't the bogeyman he is in Christianity.

Your assumptions are arrogant and disrespectful of the Jewish religion.

    The actual prophecies:
    * The Sanhedrin will be re-established (Isaiah 1:26)
    * Once he is King, leaders of other nations will look to him for guidance. (Isaiah 2:4)
    * The whole world will worship the One God of Israel (Isaiah 2:17)
    * He will be descended from King David (Isaiah 11:1) via King Solomon (1 Chron. 22:8-10)
    * The Moshiach will be a man of this world, an observant Jew with "fear of God" (Isaiah 11:2)
*****In other words - this must all be accomplished in a human lifetime*****
    * Evil and tyranny will not be able to stand before his leadership (Isaiah 11:4)
    * Knowledge of God will fill the world (Isaiah 11:9)
    * He will include and attract people from all cultures and nations (Isaiah 11:10)
    * All Israelites will be returned to their homeland (Isaiah 11:12)
    * Death will be swallowed up forever (Isaiah 25:8)
    * There will be no more hunger or illness, and death will cease (Isaiah 25:8)
    * All of the dead will rise again (Isaiah 26:19)
    * The Jewish people will experience eternal joy and gladness (Isaiah 51:11)
    * He will be a messenger of peace (Isaiah 52:7)
    * Nations will end up recognizing the wrongs they did to Israel (Isaiah 52:13-53:5)
    * The peoples of the world will turn to the Jews for spiritual guidance (Zechariah 8:23)
    * The ruined cities of Israel will be restored (Ezekiel 16:55)
    * Weapons of war will be destroyed (Ezekiel 39:9)
    * The Temple will be rebuilt (Ezekiel 40) resuming many of the suspended mitzvot
    * He will then perfect the entire world to serve God together (Zephaniah 3:9)
    * Jews will know the Torah without Study (Jeremiah 31:33)
    * He will give you all the desires of your heart (Psalms 37:4)
    * He will take the barren land and make it abundant and fruitful (Isaiah 51:3, Amos 9:13-15, Ezekiel 36:29-30, Isaiah 11:6-9).

    That's Ms Asher
"No one can measure up to the Jewish Messiah" (paraphrased) You're right, neither did Jesus. He didn't even come close.

What the Messiah will accomplish will be miraculous - with the help of the majority of the human race. Working towards peace instead of petty differences, working to save the world instead of r*ping it, that will help bring about the Messianic age.

Worship of a man (divine or not) didn't usher in an age of peace - it brought about centuries of conflict = Jesus wasn't the Jewish messiah.

He was perfect for the pagans, be happy with that and stop trying to prove Judaism wrong with Christianity - your back engineering Jesus into the Tanakh is lame and desperate.

  • "what are you going to think when it turns out he was the antichrist when you thought he was the Messiah.and then jesus will come to save the earth from total destruction and their will be a thousand years of peace"

did you really have to say that ?!

  • I think the answerer "want you bad" said it best. Problem is, dress up your insanity as religious belief, and it is given a special "pass".

At least if you're going to be a "good" bigot, base it on something more objective like skin color, instead of ancient mythology.

  • "no offense i love jews i have a lot of jewish friends"
Don't try to BS a BSer.

  • I'm not a Jew but Jew ism is closely tied with Christians. The main difference is that they believe their will be a 2nd coming of Christ.
