How do you seek when playing music?

March 10th, 2010 by anonym
  • when i'm playing a music file i see no way to skip within the file a few minutes or seconds or even to pause the song.

    how do i do this?

is there a music osd like there is with the video player?

  • there's no music osd afaik, but you can ff/rew and pause using the dvd remote. not possible with the controller if my memory serves me right...

audio ff/rew is buggy though, so don't get your hopes up too high.

  • you can assign gamepad buttons to music ffwd/rev by editing the keymap.xml file. as others have said, it doesn't work very well.

  • it is a 'known' problem and as such some people are working on what could be a very nice music osd.

  • i don’t think there is this type of functionality for audio playback; at least i haven’t been able to find it. anyways, if it isn’t already in there it should be.

  • ok thanks i'll remap the keys.

btw i would imagine music controls (with or without a remote) would be a must for a media centre, i would say that is a big hole in an otherwise great system.
