I have 3 hermit Crabs and I don't think one is doing very well. It all started yesterday when I moved around everything in the tank. After that I put it back in the tank and the next morning he was in the same spot. So I picked him up and he had allot of sand and coconut fiber in his shell so I put him in his water and he still didn't move so I put him near his food dish. When I checked on him again he was a little bit out of his shell. So I know he is alive. But since he hasn't moved or burrowed i don't know if he is sick or dieing! What do you think?
....The Temperature and humidity is right were its suppose to be!
Please HelpIm not 100% sure but he might be stressed outHi, i don't know much about hermit crabs, but what i do know is you did the wrong thing by moving his things around. Second, you kept moving him around from various places? He is probably already stressed by you moving his things now you are moving him. And third, you put him in his water? I hope you know hermit crabs CAN drown still! If it was deep you may have killed him. I don't know what you should do now, but i would say call the vets and ask if they treat small crustaceans. He's a little stressed out. Leave him alone for now.
Take him to the vet right now!The same exact thing happened to me. I picked him up and only his smallest legs were moving then a hour later he smelt horrible and I knew he was dead. I am sorry. But i don't think he will make it. i think you may have almost drowned it an accident. it was already stressed out and you said you put it in water...
did you know hermit crabs can drown very easily? i would get it checked out imediatly.#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
