I am 15 years old and I always come in here asking questions regarding my Faith and unanswered questions in the Bible that I would like to know. But it seems like everytime me or one of the other Christians on here ask a question yall ridicule us. Yall claim yall don't care about Christians..and also yall say we are idiots, and also that we are unintelligent and how we annoy yall...so why then do you guys come here? We have an environment in this part of Y!A for Christians to discuss things among other Christians...yet it seems we get more idiotic answers from athiest. If you do not believe and God and you have no inention to believe in God...then why do you waste your time coming here?You're confused, this isn't a club. It's a place of learning and we're trying to help.If you can't stand the heat, get the hell out of the kitchen. Since when do you expect reasonable answers from anonymous toons on the internet?
Someone's clue-hopper needs filling...You generalize. I care about people, some of them happen to be christians some aren't. I, an atheist, am married to a christian so perhaps you'd like to revisit your assumption.
Also, next time, try the resolved questions category as you are probably the millionth person to ask it. You really deep down want to know why I'm here - the answer is there.
Edit: Oh and where does this say it is the christianity section? You do realize that christianity is one of many religions and not just the only one like ~some~ christians seem to think.i am not a Christian (admittedly not an atheist either) but i am interested in religious and theological topics. my BA minor was also in religious philosophy.
i think it is interest and knowledge that qualifies someone to speak on a subject, not their beliefs.
also, you might note that this is the "religion and spirituality" section, not the "Christianity and spirituality" section. you might want to listen to some of those atheists you disagree with...after all, how are you going to know exactly what it is you disagree with if you can't keep your mind open long enough to understand what you are opposed to?just like you at the age of 15 have a right to be here, so do the non-believers and those of alternate religions as well. if you want a christian only forum, go elsewhere.

In case you haven't noticed, there is a 'cultural war' in progress. On one side, we have sanity, rationality and critical thinking. In the opposing corner, we have gullibility, irrationality, willful ignorance, self-delusion, intellectual dishonesty, drooling stupidity and hypocrisy (religion). This happens to be a battlegound in that war... essentially, a war of ideas.
We're not seeking to 'convert' anyone... that is futile. The systematic religious indoctrination (brainwashing) that has been inflicted upon the 'other side' conveys a demonstrable immunity to things like reason, logic, evidence and critical thinking.
However... I consider it to be our ethical duty and moral responsibility as sane, rational human beings to intervene, in the hope of protecting vulnerable, questioning young minds from being infected by the dangerous and harmful religious 'meme' (viral idea)... protecting them from droolingly stupid nonsense like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xKDKq_PP...
Also... honesty compels me to admit that I have a kind of morbid curiosity and fascination in observing the alleged 'minds' of believers in action.

THINK... you believe that a cosmic Jewish zombie, who is his own father, can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him that you accept him as your master so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced, by a talking snake with legs, to eat from a magical tree... (etc.)... and that there is something horribly wrong with people who ARE NOT so gullible and droolingly stupid as to believe such outrageously ridiculous codswallop.
Now, let me tell you something... SANE people do not believe such nonsense.

And I HAVE A RELIGION. Just not a theistic one.
Plus, you don't have to be part of a religion to have valid opinions on it. Just like everything else.We don't waste our time. We come here for free and open discussion. Granted some people are rude and crude and have no manners. Granted also that some of those bad people are non-believers and some are believers. Unfortunately, that's what you have to put up with in a free society.
But if you want to ask Christian questions and get Christian answers and do not want to be bothered by people who believe otherwise - then there are lots and lots of Christian only websites and groups for you to try out.

here's a piece of news for you. there are other religions in this world besides christianity. and they are just as valid as yoursit has to do with the fact that they are asking questions directed towards religion.

Well you better start developing thicker skin and patience, because some Atheists (not all!) are only here to mock us Christians and post insulting questions. Over time, you'll get used to it. Why am I as an Atheist here? I find it fun to piss Christians off and I do enjoy learning about other faiths other than my own lack of one.You can be non-religious and interested in religion/myth at the same time, like me.
